2025-2026 Goals

1. Increase membership to 40% dues-paying.

  • Reactivate the Membership Committee

  • Monthly union orientation for new employees

  • In-person recruitment events throughout the Fall and Spring

  • Develop a communications strategy 

  • April Open enrollment push 

  • Increase one-on-one conversations

2. Increase Leadership capacity by defining the roles of leaders, committee charges, and offering training opportunities and support as needed.

  • Identifying Grievance Reps on all campuses
  • Provide Ongoing training for Campus/Grievance Reps 
  • Provide Communication Tools for Campus/Greivance Reps
  • Create Clear Job description/duties for key leadership positions
  • Create clear committee charges/membership expectations

3. Engage, activate, and educate members through committee work, communications, and events.

  • Schedule 6 webinars throughout the year, including one on healthcare
  • Move further toward using personal contact information for member emails
  • Schedule several Legislative events
  • Activate UMPSA committees
  • Find volunteers to represent Higher Ed within the MEA committees

4. Develop metrics for end of year reporting and accountability.
